ITEM I WILL PROSTITUTE MYSELF FOR: THE VUITTON RUBBER BOOT
I never thought I would crave messy weather. I’m in hott, hotter, the hottest of pursuits, lust, whatever you want to call it over these wicked solutions to taking on rain. Before the countless knock offs, take off, (because you know they will) I’m picturing myself sloshing around to at a bunch of summer music festivals wearing these.

“Bring em’ out, Bring em’ out, Establish your Personal Style! ”
It took me a while to get clear on writing about how to instruct others to establish their sense of personal style. What was really going through my head, which seemed contrary to the topic where the following questions: At what point do you love yourself? In the clothes you wear? With that great haircut? Or when you lose those 5 naggy pounds? At what point do you decide that you accept yourself and how does that measure out in the way you present yourself to the world?
Your style is synonymous with yourself, or at least it should be. As it became clear to me in a revelation, bringing out your true personal style is really about loving yourself.
The following tried and tested few tips below can establish the facets of your expression, or who you truly are to reflect to the world to enjoy. Let’s do this without trying to change anything about you currently, as the fashion industry anciently still dictates. When you truly adore your essence, appearance becomes an effortless means to expose yourself and your truest loves daily on my personal favorite catwalk, the streets.
1) Who are you really? – This is the first and critical question that not only has to do with your style, but also will lead you towards an enriching and powerful life. It’s not a coincidence that one of the most powerful mantras is to “Know Thyself”. People often think fashion and spirituality having nothing to do with one another, but the laws of the universe affect everything accordingly and fashion is NO exception. Know thyself ladies, and the homework here is to put together a list of anything from colors, to foods, to activities, places you like to vacation. Through this exercise, you will see certain patterns emerge. For example, I love: Nightlife, high fashion, forward thinking types, revolution, music, and free spirits. Now you try it, you are also using this list for excersize #3 below.
2) Greatest hits so far- Everyone has a top 10 in their closet for various reasons. Your top 10 are the pieces you feel amazing in, reach for all the time, or just can’t seem to live without. Maybe it’s those heels that make you look super leggy, or that dress you wore with the perfect color and detailing that brings out your features. Whatever they are, there are reasons why you gravitate towards them constantly. Your work is to identify those 10 pieces that you love, and then write down why. By establishing the why, you are able to bring in more of the same for future invested purchases. You also begin to realize the patterns of why certain pieces work for you vs. others. These patterns are what also help guide you towards future purchases. For example, if you are starting to notice that you keep reaching for your trouser pants, then this cut is great going forward too.
3) Seeing is believing-I’m a sucker for vision boards, and while I know many are put off of by methods that involve tedious tasks, what you see is truly what you get. In other words, “ Seeing is believing”. Put together a vision board of everything you love in the world of style and outside of it ( use your list from excersize 1 as a recourse). This can be anything from a picture of a celebrity whose look you love (even though we at www.haleh.tv feel celebrity style is passé, we strive not to make idols of them but respect it for the sake of doing this exercise), a picture of a dream vacation destination, music you like to listen to, activities you love. This can especially be pieces that you would like to add to your “Fashion Fund” (see link below for Bella Life article on tips).

- January 11th, 2011See yourself emerge through these tips. Help yourself define your style and give it a name even if it’s cheesy (for ex, urban Eco warrior, or Bollywood princess). I can’t stress enough how amazing of a life you can live when your truest of selves is exposed. Take it from my personal hero, Vivienne Westwood, the birthmother of punk who once said famously, “You always have a better life if you wear impressive clothes”.

- January 6th, 2011BOWLING FOR FASHION? PEREZ HILTON DIGS KATERINA GRAHAM IN HALEH!!!
When I first decided to work on a collection introducing a new version of glow in the dark fashion, never in my wildest dreams would I have anticipated my “Lydia” dress ending up on actress Katerina Graham chicly bowling at a 2011 new years event.
I’m loving this being featured in Perez Hilton’s Coco Perez site. Perez’s take is fun, fresh, and very fashion forward. Sort of like the anti ” Joan Rivers fashion police”. Click on the photo above to see his thoughts on the look for the evening!
My mission has, and always will be to inspire women to free their spirits through fashion, to fearlessly play dress up. To push them to try something new and discover a new version of themselves. Anyone can dress “freaky,” or dress in performance art costumes, for me it’s always about having one foot in high fashion, one foot in reality. The delicate balance of taking something considered “unwearable,” giving it that street feel of making it work and look lovely in real life. Notice she didn’t add a crazy hairdo, tons of jewelry, or wacky fairytale makeup. The dress, and her beauty are enough.
You can see the dress below in all its runway glory on Lydia Hearst.

- January 4th, 2011WHAT A DREAM TO BE IN CREAME MAG!
I’m thrilled to have Haleh Nematzadeh featured in the November 2010 Creame mag editorial entitled “London Bridge is Falling”. A neo-elizabithean, layered princess mideval look. A whole other interpretation of 2 glow in the dark pieces. This is why I adore editorials, they make you think bigger, dress dreamier, and elevate your wardrobe consciousness to new dimensions.

Catsuits are the perfect layering piece for the fall/winter season. A sequined one brings it into a whole other level. I like this for day mixed with some oxfords to tone down the disco freakiness.
How would you guys style this piece?
